HI Events & Services - Heart Walk
Heartland Health is a proud sponsor of the Heart Walk in St. Joseph. In June each year, area participants gather to take part in the American Heart Associations (AHA) signature fundraising event to promote physical activity and heart healthy living in a fun, family friendly environment. AHA is the largest voluntary health organization working to prevent, treat and defeat heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases.
Each year more than one million walkers just like you will participate in more than 450 events nationwide, raising funds and saving lives.
The Walk is a healthy, fun family event. It promotes physical activity as a part of a heart-healthy lifestyle and raises funds for research and programs to fight heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases. These diseases are our nation's No.1 killer, claiming more than 900,000 American lives a year -- more than the next four leading causes of death combined.
You probably know someone suffering from heart disease, stroke or other cardiovascular disease. Most of us do. To help these people -- and to help protect our loved ones -- we all need to get involved.
